The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced important dates for upcoming national entrance exams.

The University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET), crucial for aspiring lecturers and researchers, will move from pen-and-paper to computer-based testing.

Scheduled from 21 August to 4 September, the UGC-NET assesses candidates across disciplines for teaching and research roles in Indian universities.

Earlier, the Ministry of Education cancelled the UGC-NET 2024 exam, conducted by the National Testing Agency on 18 June, just a day after it was held.

This came after the University Grants Commission (UGC) received certain inputs from the National Cyber Crime Threat Analytics Unit of the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C).

"These inputs prima-facie indicate that the integrity of the aforesaid examination may have been compromised," said the press release on exam cancellation.

Over 9 lakh candidates had appeared for the exam.

Meanwhile, the NTA has announced that the CSIR NET exam will be held from 25 to 27 July.

In other announcements, the NTA has confirmed that the All India Ayush Post Graduate Entrance Test (AIAPGET) 2024 will proceed as planned on 6 July.

The National Common Entrance Test (NCET) for admission to the four-year Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) in select Central and state universities or institutions, including IITs, NITs, RIEs, and government colleges, which was postponed hours before its schedule on 12 June, will now be conducted on 10 July.
