Here Are Brief Profiles Of Keshav Prasad Maurya And Brajesh Pathak— Deputies To Yogi Adityanath
- Ever since the results of UP elections 2022 were out, speculations were rife about how many deputy chief ministers would serve in 'Yogi government 2.0'.

Yogi Adityanath, 48, was sworn in as chief minister of Uttar Pradesh today, becoming the first CM in over three and a half decades to return to power in the state after completing a full five-year term.
The BJP-led coalition won 273 seats in a House of 403 members.
Ever since the results of UP elections 2022 were out, speculations were rife about how many deputy chief ministers would serve in 'Yogi government 2.0' and who would they be.
The previous administration in Uttar Pradesh had two deputy CMs: Keshav Prasad Maurya and Dinesh Sharma.
In the run-up to the swearing-in ceremony today, there were speculations that the number of deputy chief ministers could be increased. There was even a buzz about the number being as high as five.
Today, however, it became known that the number would stay at two; and the two deputy chief ministers of Uttar Pradesh are: Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak.
Keshav Prasad Maurya
Despite the massive victory of BJP in the state, Maurya had lost in his Sirathu constituency to Pallavi Patel, vice-president of Apna Dal (K), a Samajwadi Party ally.
Maurya had contested the 2014 Indian general elections from the Phulpur parliamentary constituency and won it.
Before this, he had been elected as an MLA from the Sirathu constituency itself, in 2012.
Maurya has been associated with the RSS and the VHP from an early age, holding the posts of Nagar Karyawah and VHP Prant Sanghathan Mantri.
Brajesh Pathak
He registered a convincing win from Lucknow Cantonment constituency. Pitted against Samajwadi Party candidate Surendra Singh Gandhi alias Raju Gandhi, Pathak won by around 40,000 votes.
Previously, he was serving as the Cabinet Minister of Legislative, Justice, and Rural Engineering service in the Uttar Pradesh Government.
He is also an former member of the Lok Sabha from Unnao, 2004 to 2009.
Pathak was earlier in the Bahujan Samaj Party and was one of prominent faces of the BSP's successful campaign in the 2007 assembly elections.
He joined the BJP in 2016.
