UPSC Civil Services Exam 2023 Result: Lucknow's Aditya Srivastava Secures First Rank, 10 Women In Top 25

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) announced the results for the Civil Services Exam 2023 on 16 April, with Lucknow's Aditya Srivastava securing the top rank.

Animesh Pradhan and Donuru Ananya Reddy secured the second and third ranks respectively. Candidates can check their results on the UPSC website.

P.K. Sidharth Ramkumar, an Architecture graduate from College of Architecture, Trivandrum, secured fourth place with Anthropology as his optional subject.

Ruhani, an Economics graduate from St. Stephens College, Delhi University, secured fifth place with Economics as her optional subject.

A total of 1,016 candidates cleared the examination and have been recommended for various central government services. The top 25 candidates include 10 women and 15 men.

Among the successful candidates, 115 are from the economically weaker section, while 303, 165, and 86 belong to the OBC, SC, and ST categories respectively. The remaining 347 are general category candidates.

These candidates have been recommended for appointment to the Indian Administrative Service, Indian Foreign Service, Indian Police Service, and Central Services (Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’).

The educational qualifications of the top 25 candidates range from graduation in engineering, humanities, science, commerce, business administration, architecture, and law from premier institutions such as IITs, IIMs, NITs, University of Delhi, and National Law University among others.

The top 25 candidates have opted for subjects like anthropology, chemistry, geography, economics, electrical engineering, law, history, mathematics, physics, political science, and international relations, and sociology as their optional subjects in the written (main) examination.

The civil services (preliminary) examination, 2023 was conducted on May 28 last year.

Out of 10,16,850 candidates who applied, 5,92,141 candidates appeared in the examination. 14,624 candidates qualified for the written (main) examination, which was held in September 2023. A total of 2,855 candidates qualified for the personality test of the examination.
