US Ambassador To India Calls National Security Advisor Ajit Doval An "International Treasure"

During the United States-India initiative on Critical and Emerging Technologies (iCET) meet in Delhi, US Ambassador Eric Garcetti expressed admiration for National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, calling him an "international treasure."

Eric Garcetti praised Ajit Doval for his humble origins as a village boy from Uttarakhand. In addition to praising Ajit Doval, the envoy also expressed his admiration for the strong foundation between the United States and India. He said that there is a strong bond between the two countries, adding that it is crystal clear that Indians love Americans and Americans love Indians.

On the United States-India initiative on Critical and Emerging Technologies (iCET) meet in Delhi, he expressed that it was a great opportunity for both countries to collaborate and further strengthen their relationship.

The US Ambassador expressed admiration for India's achievements in digital payments and financial technology, commending how the country had stunned the world. He referenced the example of a tea seller in a remote village who could receive direct payment from the government through her phone, without any hassle.

Reportedly, commenting on a dinner he had with multi-faith leaders, he said that India possessed something more powerful than the latest advancements in 4G, 5G, and even 6G- 'Guruji'. The US Ambassador conveyed the significance of this statement, highlighting the depth of cultural wealth and history existing in India.

This comes as Jake Sullivan, the National Security Advisor of the United States, also embarked on a two-day visit to India and held discussions with his Indian counterpart Ajit Doval regarding regional and global issues of mutual benefit. The individuals shared insights about pressing concerns to establish a more robust and long-lasting partnership between the two countries.

As per reports, Sullivan traveled with a delegation of senior US government officials and leaders from US industries to conduct his visit. His arrival in the nation's capital comes before an upcoming state visit to the United States by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and the discussions held between US and Indian leaders establish a framework for subsequent talks.

The advisors also attended the second Track 1.5 discourse on mutual interests, which the Confederation of Indian Industry hosted. According to a press release by the Ministry of External Affairs, the first edition of the dialogue was held on January 30th of this year, hosted by the US Chamber of Commerce in Washington, DC.

During his visit, NSA Sullivan will hold meetings with External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and various other dignitaries from the Indian government, as per the official press release by the Ministry of External Affairs.

Recently, Lloyd Austin, the US Defense Secretary, and Ajit Doval, the National Security Advisor, had met each other in New Delhi to discuss collaboration in specific niche technologies within the maritime, military, and aerospace domains, along with their views on Indo-Pacific.
