A month after Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Sanjay Singh levelled allegations of wrongdoing regarding a land deal and the Shree Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust refuted them with facts, the Trust on Saturday (10 July) decided to form economic and legal advisory committees to oversee its transactions going forward.

Also, the general secretary of Ram Mandir trust, Champat Rai, explained the whole case to Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat before the Akhil Bharatiya Prant Pracharak Baithak that is being organised at Chitrakoot.

In June, the Aam Aadmi Party alleged fraud and corruption over purchasing a piece of land by the Trust on 18 March this year. AAP MP Sanjay Singh had levelled allegations of wrongdoing against Ram Mandir trust’s general secretary Champat Rai and another member Anil Mishra.

However, both Ram Mandir trust and RSS have strongly backed the members and refuted the allegations.

“Champat Rai met Bhagwat ji and explained the whole case. Rai has been at the helm of affairs and he has been committed to the cause. No one is being sidelined. Plus, it is a Supreme court-mandated trust,” a senior RSS functionary told news agency ANI.

RSS and its affiliate organisations like VHP have called the allegations a political stunt pulled by the Opposition to hamper the temple-building process.

The work for Ram Mandir is continuing at a brisk pace despite Covid-19 induced restrictions. The temple trust aims to complete the main temple work before ending 2023 or the beginning of 2024.

Recently, PM Narendra Modi, along with CM Yogi Adityanath, reviewed the development plan for Ayodhya.

The Prime Minister was informed about various upcoming and proposed infrastructure projects to improve connectivity with Ayodhya. The PM discussed various infrastructure projects like airport, railway station, bus station, roads and highways.

An upcoming greenfield township was discussed, including lodging facilities for devotees, space for ashrams, mutts, hotels, bhavans of various states. A tourist facilitation centre, a world-class museum will also be built.

Special attention is being devoted to the development of infrastructure around the Sarayu river and its ghats. Cruise operation on the Sarayu river is also part of the plan.

The city will be developed to ensure sustainability with adequate spaces for cyclists and people on foot. Traffic management will also be done in a modern manner using Smart City infrastructure.
