News Brief
JP Nadda and Yogi Adityanath
Bharatiya Janata Party president JP Nadda's visit to Varanasi amid the party's election campaign in West Bengal before the upcoming Assembly polls has seen him pushing for a proactive approach to the 2022 Assembly polls in Uttar Pradesh.
Nadda's visit has indicated that the party workers will push for a sharper approach to the Assembly polls.
Nadda said that all parties had shrunk into being regional parties and family-centered parties, including the Congress. He said that on the contrary, the BJP is the only party that has turned into a parivar (family).
Nadda met party office bearers, ministers and parliamentarians in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Lok Sabha seat. The interaction saw him press for more discipline and a stronger approach in making Varanasi the nodal point for the BJP's work towards victory in the 2022 Assembly polls.
Nadda pointed out to the workers that leaders are not made by putting banners and photos, but by serving the people.
He said that people do not remember politicians who are seen only in banners and posters. He added that serving people builds and further strengthens the trusts in leaders.
He explained to the workers the meaning of meets that are held to strengthen the organisation and public interactions on the village level. He directed the workers to be consistent with noting down the points and observations from the meetings held at the village.
Nadda said that the party's work towards the panchayat elections will make a good foundation for the 2022 Assembly polls. He directed the party workers to interact with people who have benefited from the schemes, policies and programmes of the government and to hear people patiently, and to help those people who have been unable to benefit from the government's constructive work, policies and programmes.
He inaugurated the BJP's newly constructed party office — the foundation for which was placed by his predecessor Amit Shah. He directed party workers to highlight the work done by the party on social media so that more and more people get to know about the positive actions.
