The 2024 Quad Summit, which India is expected to host, will not take place in January as reportedly planned by the country.

The meeting will be held "later in the year", The Hindu reported citing sources.

This implies that US President Joe Biden, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, and Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese will not be visiting India around Republic Day, which was reportedly proposed by New Delhi.

Albanese's travel to India would also be uncertain as it coincides with Australia's National Day, which is also observed on the same day as India's Republic Day.

During the Quad leaders' meeting which took place on the sidelines of the G-7 Summit in Japan in May, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced that the next Quad leaders' summit would be hosted by India.
