Osama Shahab, Mohammad Shahabuddin's son
Osama Shahab, the son of former Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) MP Mohammad Shahabuddin from Siwan, Bihar, was sent to judicial custody until 29 October by the district court on Wednesday (18 October).
After the court's decision, supporters of Osama became agitated and created chaos within the court premises, Jagran reported.
While no bail application has been filed by Osama till the time of reporting, Osama's lawyers can file a bail application in court at any time during the judicial custody.
However, as the Durga Puja holiday starts from Thursday, there will be no court proceedings until 29 October. Osama will be presented in court again on 30 October.
Supporters of Osama gathered to escort him in a private vehicle. The police had to use mild force in response. Afterward, the police made Osama sit in their vehicle.
This arrest on Monday intensified politics in Bihar. However, he was granted bail on Tuesday and brought to Bihar.
Meanwhile, a statement by Osama's mother and Shahabuddin's wife Hina Shahab has also came in which she said what will she do if her son is also taken away after her husband's death.
This arrest is related to a land dispute firing in Chhapia village in the Hussainganj police station area of Siwan on 6 October. The dispute is over 42 kathas of land.
The owner of the land, Abhishek Kumar, has filed a First Information Report (FIR) at the Hussainganj police station in this regard. In the FIR, the names of Osama, his close associate Salman, and some other unnamed persons are mentioned.
