The player of the match in Pakistan cricket team's record win — the highest-ever chase in a world cup — against Sri Lanka on Tuesday (10 October) has dedicated his knock to the people of Gaza.
Palestinian terror group Hamas crossed over from the Gaza Strip, which it has controlled since 2007, into Israel on Saturday (6 October), causing a massacre of innocent civilians, including citizens of others nations.
The death toll from their shock attack surpassed 1,200 on Wednesday (11 October), with over 3,000 injured and the fate as yet unclear of an estimated 150 people abducted and taken to the Gaza Strip.
"We are moving to a full offense," Israel's Defense Minister Yoav Gallant said Tuesday in an address to troops along the Gaza border. "They will regret this moment; Gaza will never go back to what it was," he added.
At least 900 people, including at least 140 children, have been killed, and at least 4,500 wounded, in Gaza by Israel's retaliatory airstrikes, according to the Gaza Health Ministry.
