BJP MLA Mohan Yadav was sworn in as the new Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh on Wednesday (13 December).

Further, Rajendra Shukla and Jagdish Devda were sworn in as Deputy CMs of the state.

The oath-taking ceremony was organised at Bhopal’s Lal Parade Ground, and was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Maharasthra CM Eknath Shinde and other central ministers.


Known for his close ties with the RSS, Yadav first secured his position as an MLA from Ujjain South in 2013 and successfully retained his seat in 2018 and 2023.

In addition to his political achievements, Yadav is highly educated, holding an LLB, MBA, and PhD. He previously served as the Higher Education Minister in Shivraj Singh Chouhan's cabinet.

Devda, who took oath as MP deputy CM, belongs to the Scheduled Caste (SC), while Shukla, the second deputy CM, is a prominent Brahmin face in the Vindhya Pradesh region.
