Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath asserted on Sunday (9 October) that, akin to the reclamation of Ram Janmabhoomi in Ayodhya after 500 years, the region around southern Punjab in Pakistan, known as 'Sindhu' or Indus, could also be reclaimed.

"After 500 years a grand temple is being built in Ayodhya. Ram lala is sitting at his abode after 500 years. Then there is Kashi Vishwanath Dham, what was there six years ago. After 500 years, if Shree Ram Janmabhoomi can be taken back, then there is no reason that we cannot take back Sindhu," the CM said.

The statement came when he was highlighting the challenges faced by the Sindhi community post-Partition and underscored the impact of a single person's obstinacy leading to the division of the country, without explicitly naming anyone, The Times of India reported.

Encouraging the Sindhi community to impart knowledge of their history to the present generation, Yogi Adityanath expressed confidence that an understanding of their heritage would empower future generations to reclaim their ancestral land.

He stressed the need to eliminate detrimental societal tendencies for the welfare of humanity, drawing inspiration from religious scriptures that advocate protecting the good and eliminating evil.

Recognising the Sindhi community as an integral part of Sanatan Dharma, Yogi Adityanath praised their progress despite adversities. He urged the collective effort to build a society free from destructive inclinations.
