SP Chief Akhilesh Yadav.
In an attempt to broaden the Samajwadi Party's (SP) support base, national president Akhilesh Yadav on Monday (30 October) expanded his policy for PDA (Pichhde-Dalit-Alpasankhyak) to include three more groups.
Yadav held a press conference before the SP's cycle rally and made a change in strategy ahead of the Lok Sabha elections by merging four groups in 'A' in his abbreviation of 'PDA'
While P means Pichhde (backward class) and D means Dalit, he said, 'In PDA, A stands for Agade (forward class), Adivasi (tribals), and Aadhi Aabadi (women)" along with Alpasankhyak (Minorities).
In the press conference, he stated that those who did development work are Agade (forward class), and those just take credit are Pichhde (backward class).
It should be noted that Akhilesh, on Sunday evening, went to watch the India-England match held at Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. Three days before that, he had visited Ekana Stadium, attributing credit for its construction to the SP government and taunting the Yogi government repeatedly.
"Everyone is part of the PDA rally, where we are talking about Backward, Dalit, and Minority Muslim brothers. Similarly, Agade, Adivasi, and Aadhi Aabadi are also included," he explained.
Reacting sharply to the death of the former MP's son, who was upset in the SGPGI of Lucknow, he said that it is not the responsibility of doctors and staff but the Chief Minister is responsible for this, as he did not allocate a budget.
After this press conference, Akhilesh set out on the PDA cycle rally which started from Purvanchal Expressway and is set to terminate at Janeshwar Mishra Park.
