Sri Lanka experienced a significant earthquake measuring 6.2 in magnitude on Tuesday (14 November) afternoon, as reported by the National Center for Seismology. The earthquake, with its epicentre located at a latitude of -2.96 and longitude of 86.54, occurred at a depth of 10 km.


The Geological Survey and Mines Bureau has assured that there is no imminent danger to Sri Lanka, given that the earthquake took place 800 km southeast of the country in the Indian Ocean, at a depth of 10 km.
