Tamil Nadu cabinet reshuffle
A reshuffle of the Tamil Nadu cabinet has taken place along with the oath taking ceremony of Udhayanidhi Stalin, the son of Chief Minister MK Stalin.
While the portfolios of some ministers has been changed, others have either got additional departments or seen some departments being taken away from them.
I Periasamy and KR Periyakaruppan have swapped places as Cooperation and Rural Development ministers respectively. K Ramachandran has been shifted from Forests to Tourism.
M Mathiventhan is the new Minister for Forests.
R Gandhi who is the Minister for Handlooms and Textiles will no longer be holding charge of Khadi and Village Industries Board. That will now be under RS Raja Kannappan who is the Minister for Backward Classes Welfare.
Statistics has been taken from Periasamy and given to Finance Minister Palanivel Thiaga Rajan.
Udhayanidhi Stalin while being designated as the Minister for Youth Welfare and Sports Development, will also hold charge of Special Programme Implementation, Poverty Alleviation Programme and Rural Indebtedness.
