Annamalai versus Udhayanidhi Stalin
Udhayanidhi Stalin, the son of Chief Minister MK Stalin and the Sports Minister in the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) government has sent a legal notice to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state president K Annamalai asking for Rs 50 crore in damages over allegations made by him while presenting the DMK Files.
The notice was sent by DMK Rajya Sabha member and Senior Advocate P Wilson.
This comes after Annamalai responded to a legal notice sent by the DMK Organising Secretary RS Bharathi seeking Rs 500 crore in damages by saying that he sought damages of Rs 500 crore and Re 1 for associating him with the Arudhra chit fund scam. The DMK had alleged that he had received Rs 84 crore from the proceeds of the scam.
He alleged that Noble Steels which had signed an MoU with the state government to invest Rs 1000 crore is related to the company in which Udhayanidhi was a Director and thus he could have been a beneficiary of the deal.
