Dainik Jagran Reporter Fatally Shot In Bihar's Araria

The police said reporter Vimal was shot dead by four men.


Vimal, a reporter with the Hindi-language daily Dainik Jagran, was killed in Bihar's Araria district early on Friday (18 August), as reported by news agency PTI.

The police said Vimal was shot dead at his residence in the Raniganj market area at around 5.30 am.

According to the police, four gunmen pulled up to Vimal's doorstep and called out to him. In response, the journalist stepped outside. Then, the gunmen fired at him and fled the spot. Vimal died on the spot.

Ashok Kumar Singh, the SP of Araria, informed PTI that the body of the deceased has been taken for post-mortem and the authorities are making efforts to apprehend the suspect.

Meanwhile, a forensic team is investigating the scene of the crime.
