The remains of the glorious Vijayanagara empire that one finds at Hampi will come alive at the Central Vista Museum at the new parliament building.

As reported by the Deccan Herald, 3D pictures and fibre replicas of the world heritage site monuments will be part of the proposed modern museum.

The museum is said to host replicas of monuments and memorials that represent India’s history, heritage, culture and civilisation and is being developed by the National Museum Institute of the History of Art, Conservation and Museology (NMIHACM).

Replicas of the Mahanavami Dibba, Raja Prangana, Raja Sabhangana, Gupta Marga, Kamalapur lake and Turta Kaluve will adorn the museum as per the report, and the images will also have information about the monuments.

Meanwhile, the headquarters of the newly carved Vijayanagara district Hosapete will soon host the country’s tallest flagpole. A brainchild of Minister of Tourism and local MLA Anand Singh, the flagpole, which is under construction right now, will be 123 metres tall.

While the tallest flagpole at present is in Karnataka in Belagavi’s Kotekere, standing at 110 ft, it will be rendered the second tallest with this new one which will be installed at the Puneet Rajkumar Stadium.

As reported by The New Indian Express, it will host a tricolour measuring 120 by 80 ft this Independence Day and Singh is likely to do the honours although he is the district incharge of Koppala. A total of Rs 6 crore has been released for this project by the district tourism department, while private sponsors have also volunteered for the installation.
