India achieved a significant milestone at the Hangzhou Asian Games on 1 October, surpassing 50 medals.
It became the fourth country to do so in the competition, after China, South Korea, and Japan.
Nandini Agasara contributed to this success by winning the bronze in the women's heptathlon 800 m event.
Day 8 proved to be fruitful for India, with multiple gold medals being secured in various events.
The men's trap shooting, men's 3,000 m steeple chase, and men's shot put events all saw Indian athletes emerge victorious.
In addition to the gold medals, Indian athletes also earned seven silver medals and five bronze medals.
In the 100 m hurdles event, Jyothi Yarraji initially claimed the bronze medal. However, her position was later upgraded to silver as Wu Yanni was disqualified due to a false start.
The Indian men's badminton team concluded their Asian Games journey with an impressive silver medal. Despite a valiant effort, they were defeated by China in the final with a score of 2-3.
The Indian contingent is represented by over 650 athletes in this year's Games.
India's shooting team had an impressive performance, winning a total of 22 medals, including seven golds.
During the previous Asian Games in Jakarta in 2018, India achieved a remarkable record of 70 medals, including 16 golds.
