Officials from the National Investigation Agency (NIA) successfully located and handed over three Bangladeshi nationals to the local police on Friday (11 August).

These immigrants were found to be residing illegally in Bengaluru's Bellandur area. The NIA team, initially investigating a case linked to Uttar Pradesh, uncovered the presence of these illegal immigrants during their inquiries.

The trio, identified as Khaleel Chaparasi, Abdul Khadir, and Mohammad Zaheed, were located during a search operation conducted on Monday.

Upon further investigation, authorities revealed that there are an additional 24 such illegal immigrants in the city. The NIA team, in collaboration with local law enforcement, is currently engaged in efforts to locate and address this issue.

Preliminary findings unveiled that these immigrants, currently in the custody of Bellandur's local police, have been unlawfully residing in the country since 2011. They entered the nation with the assistance of a broker, paying him Rs 20,000 for his services.

Subsequently, they managed to acquire essential government documents such as Aadhaar cards, ration cards, and other forms of identification.

The Bengaluru police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) under Sections 14(C) and 14(A) of the Foreigners Act, in addition to the Passport Act. A thorough investigation is underway to delve deeper into this matter.
