Shivraj Singh Chouhan's Gift For Doctors: 7th Pay Commission Scale W.E.F. January 2016, Time-Bound Salary Increments

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan is trying to woo every section of the society ahead of the upcoming assembly elections.
On Monday (28 August), he made an announcement for doctors that they will receive the seventh Pay Commission pay scale retroactively from 1 January 2016. This is applicable for all medical colleges across the state. Additionally, time-bound salary increments will be implemented.
Chouhan inaugurated a groundbreaking 2000-bed hospital, complete with an emergency medicine department valued at Rs 482 crore, and took the occasion to outline these advancements.
He also laid the foundation stones for medical facilities totaling Rs 245 crore at Gandhi Medical College, which hosts the revitalized Hamidia hospital complex, a historic structure from the 18th century.
Under the new scheme, doctors in all departments will receive time-bound pay scales, with salary increments occurring at five, 10, and 15-year intervals, without the obligation of promotion. Chouhan affirmed, "Medical college doctors will also get Seventh Pay Commission scale from January 1, 2016."
Addressing anomalies in Non Practicing Allowance (NPA) computation and ensuring equitable compensation for doctors in various departments are among the planned reforms. Chouhan also emphasized that contractual doctors will enjoy the same benefits as contract workers. To promote equal work for equal pay, doctors in all departments will receive uniform compensation.
Furthermore, the compulsory service bond amount for medical students in rural areas will be streamlined. The pay scale for assistant professors within medical colleges will be rectified, and the regulations governing the relocation of 11 nursing homes in the city will be simplified, Chouhan announced.
Vishvas Sarang, MP Medical Education Officer, praised Chouhan's ongoing commitment to elevating healthcare services. Sarang also highlighted the groundbreaking initiative of introducing MBBS education in Hindi language within the state, a first of its kind in India.
He attributed improvements in healthcare services to the initiatives of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, noting the rapid expansion of medical colleges in Madhya Pradesh.
