The teaser of the highly anticipated Bollywood film, 'Sam Bahadur,' a biopic on Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw, was released today (on 13 October).

Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw, the venerable commander of the Indian Army, credited with India's victory in the 1971 Bangladesh war against Pakistan, is portrayed by the talented Vicky Kaushal in the biopic.

The teaser beautifully captures Manekshaw's deep affection for the Indian Army and his unwavering dedication, demonstrating his readiness to make any sacrifice for his country.

Vicky Kaushal, in the role of Field Marshal Manekshaw, can be heard saying in the trailer, "Ek soldier ke liye uski jaan se zada keemti hoti hai uski izzat...uski wardi...aur ek soldier apni wardi ki izzat ke liye apni jaan bhi de sakta hai" (For a soldier, his uniform and his honour is more valuable than his life and for the respect of his uniform, a soldier can give up his life too).

Towards the conclusion of the teaser Sam states, "Soldiers ki duty hai desh ki raksha ke liye dushman ki jaan lena hai" (It is the duty of a soldier to kill anyone who comes in the way of their country’s safety), correcting Prime Minister Indira Gandhi when she says that it is the duty of the soldiers to sacrifice his life for his country.

The cast also features Sanya Malhotra as Sam's wife, Siloo, and Fatima Sana Shaikh as Indira Gandhi. Additionally, Neeraj Kabi and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub play pivotal roles, portraying Jawaharlal Nehru and Yahya Khan, respectively.

Sam Bahadur is set to hit theaters on December 1.

Field Marshal Manekshaw served as the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) when India engaged in the 1971 conflict in East Pakistan, leading to the birth of Bangladesh.

Based on his strategic insight, he advised Prime Minister Indira Gandhi to wait for the winter season, when rivers in East Pakistan would recede, and there would be a reduced likelihood of Chinese intervention

After the war, Prime Minister Gandhi promoted Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw to the prestigious five-star rank of Field Marshal, the highest in the armed forces

Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw is only the second officer in the armed forces to attain the Field Marshal rank, following Field Marshal K. M. Cariappa.
