Canada Justin Time Weekend Mag

Dear Reader,

As I send you the latest edition of our weekend magazine — Just'in Time For Votebank — covering the India-Canada diplomatic row, the things seem to be only getting worse as argued in our cover story "Worst Is Yet To Come For India-Canada Relations".

In the latest, the US charged an Indian ex-officer R&AW officer Vikash Yadav for plotting to kill Khalistani terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun. And thereafter a few hours ago, India has shared information with Canada about Sandeep Singh Sandhu, a Khalistani terrorist serving in the Canada Border Service Agency.

But let's be clear what this issue is really about.

One, Trudeau is trying to appease and consolidate his votebank amidst the heat he is facing on allegations of Chinese interference in Canadian elections.

Two, the US and Canada appear to be working in tandem to "contain" India. It is more about resisting India which is knocking hard at the door for its rightful place in the comity of nations. The Five Eyes, and particularly the US, desire an India which is strong enough to counter-balance Chinese hegemony in the Indo-Pacific region. But at the same time, they want to remind India not to become too big for its shoes.

In all, this is a challenging time for India. And that will be the natural order of things as India keeps rising.

So here's our weekend magazine edition featuring this diplomatic row and everything important that's there to know more from the bygone week.
