Dear Reader,

Those in Bihar or on social media must have noticed something missing from RJD's latest posters. Lalu Prasad Yadav's face.

His son Tejashwi is desperately trying to escape the shadow of Bihar's 'jungle raj' and thus his father's controversial legacy.

Meanwhile, in neighboring Jharkhand, Hemant Soren is doing the opposite. His first act after becoming CM? A public display of respect to his father Shibu Soren, who is much revered by the tribals in the state.

My colleague Abhishek's latest piece looks at these contrasting ways two political heirs are handling their fathers' legacies.

Can he take a leaf out of Hemant Soren's book who has turned his father's tribal pride movement into a modern political asset?

PS: Stay tuned to Swarajya today as we have some incisive pieces coming up on the occasion of one-year anniversary of Ram Mandir's Pran Prathishtha covering it all—from culture to politics to development.

Have a nice day and stay tuned,
