π Remembering the Brave - Commemorative T-Shirt To Mark 24 Years Since The Battle Of Tiger Hill
On this day (July 8) in 1999, soldiers of the Indian Army achieved a remarkable victory by recapturing the majestic Tiger Hills from the Pakistani Army, a strategic point overlooking key army installations and facilities.
At an altitude of 16,608 ft, Tiger Hill demanded every ounce of endurance and gallantry from Indian troops. It took many days of fighting in terribly cold weather for the troops of 8 Sikh, 18 Grenadiers and 2 Naga to recapture the important hill top.
The battle led to 18 Grenadiers being decorated with one Param Vir Chakra, two Maha Vir Chakras and six Vir Chakras. The unit also got the Chief of Army Staff Citation and Theatre Honour.
As a token of remembrance and celebration, we've brought out the Tiger HIll 1999 T-Shirt featuring the iconic photo of our troops on the hill top.
