Tamil Nadu BJP chief K Annamalai.
In a video seen on Twitter, Tamil Nadu Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president K Annamalai has refused to apologise to journalists.
They were demanding an apology for his remarks made few days back at a party programme in Cuddalore.
Annamalai had asked reporters as to why they were surrounding him like monkeys jumping on trees to get his statements when he had already refused to answer questions.
Today, while refusing to apologise, Annamalai said that he did not feel the need to do so because he did not say anything wrong.
Responding to a question, he said that television channels like Sun TV and Kalaignar TV and newspapers like Murasoli that are owned by the Karunanidhi and Maran families are driven by an agenda and are biased in favour of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK). They cannot be called neutral media.
When a journalist continued to insist on an apology from him, Annamalai refused to back down and told the journalist (likely from one of the above mentioned television channels) that nobody was forcing him to attend his press meets. He was free to write as he wishes or blackout, ie, not cover his events.
