BJP is projected to secure a significant lead in West Bengal.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is projected to secure a significant lead in West Bengal with a 46 percent vote share, according to the Axis My India exit poll on India Today.
The party is projected to win between 26 to 31 seats in the state.
The Trinamool Congress (TMC), led by Mamata Banerjee, is anticipated to receive 40 per cent of the vote share, translating to an estimated 11 to 14 seats.
This marks a significant shift, as the BJP had not only failed to one-up Mamata Banerjee in the 2019 Lok Sabha election but also lost the state Assembly elections in 2021.
In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP secured 18 seats with a vote share of 40.7 per cent, while the TMC won 22 seats with a vote share of over 43 per cent.
