Satyendra Jain, former cabinet minister in Kejriwal government in Delhi
Satyendar Jain, former Delhi Minister and member of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), has been taken to Safdarjung Hospital due to a deterioration in his health.
Jain has lost a significant amount of weight, with reports indicating that he has shed 35 kgs, reports TOI.
While the exact reason for the former minister being transported to the hospital remains unclear, it has been reported that his health has been deteriorating.
Last week, the Supreme Court issued a notice regarding his bail plea in the money laundering case.
Senior advocate AM Singhvi, representing Jain, requested the bail, stating that his client's health was in extreme condition. Despite the Delhi High Court denying him bail in the case, the Apex Court has issued a notice on Jain's plea and has granted him the liberty to move the court seeking an urgent listing of his plea.
The Enforcement Directorate's Additional Solicitor General, SV Raju, is representing the department in the case.
Jain has been in jail since 30 May last year, and a trial court had denied his bail application on 17 November 2022.
The Delhi High Court had previously dismissed Jain's bail application and those of his two aides in the money laundering case.
