Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah To Meet PM Modi For The First Time Since Assuming Office

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is currently in Delhi to attend a meeting organised by the Congress national leadership in preparation for the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.

During his visit, he will also have his first meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi since assuming office for a second term in May.

Expressing his previous inability to meet with PM Modi, Siddaramaiah stated that on his last visit to Delhi, the Prime Minister was on a foreign tour.

However, this time, Siddaramaiah has been granted an appointment and plans to discuss various state-related issues, seeking the Prime Minister's intervention.

In his recent speeches, he has expressed concerns that these schemes may deplete the state treasury, weaken the state, and jeopardise the future of the youth.

During a speech in Pune, PM Modi highlighted the financial challenges faced by the Karnataka government.

He said, “The Karnataka government is claiming a shortage of funds for development. The situation is the same in Rajasthan. There is an increase in the debt burden and development has stopped. We need the right policy and intent”.
