India asked for an explanation from the top United Kingdom diplomat about the lack of British security that enabled separatists to enter the Indian High Commission on Sunday and replace the Tricolour with the Khalistani flag.

The arsoning happened before the diplomat was summoned to the Foreign Office late night (March 19).

India has rebuked the UK High Commission's second-ranking diplomat over the UK government's disregard of Indian diplomatic premises and personnel security in the country.

The Ministry of External Affairs has called for the UK government to identify, arrest, and prosecute the perpetrators of a recent incident. They have also requested that the government take strong measures to prevent similar events from happening again.

On social media videos, "separatist and extremist elements" chanted "Khalistan Zindabad" and anti-India slogans at the High Commission premises. They also held a poster of fugitive Amritpal Singh, a Khalistani sympathizer.

"Unacceptable disgraceful acts against Indian High Commission and people in London condemned," he tweeted.

Indian missions, temples, and Gandhi statues in the UK, Canada, the US, and Australia have recently experienced a string of attacks.

In March, PM Narendra Modi expressed disappointment over recurring news of temple attacks in Australia. In 2019, aggressive protests in front of the High Commission against lockdown in Kashmir and CAA/NRC led PM Modi to speak to then UK PM Boris Johnson about providing sufficient security to Indian diplomatic facilities.

An hour later, images surfaced online with the Indian Tricolour installed in front of the mission.
