The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) allies met at Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde's residence on 31 August and passed a resolution to contest the Lok Sabha 2024 elections together.

Following the meeting of NDA constituents, a dinner was hosted by Shinde. The meeting, which started at 10pm, continued well past midnight.

The NDA in Maharashtra consists of several parties, including the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Shiv Sena (Shinde faction), Nationalist Congress Party (Ajit Pawar faction), Republican Party of India (RPI) (Athavale), RPI (Kawade), Bahujan Vikas Aghadi (BVA), Prahar Jan Shakti, Ryan Kranti, and Rashtriya Samaj Paksha (RSP).

The BJP issued a statement late at night stating that the purpose of the meeting was to discuss the upcoming Lok Sabha and Assembly 2024 polls.

The leaders have unanimously agreed to contest the elections together.

The first resolution passed was to commend Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis for his successful Japan tour.

During his visit, he engaged with various Japanese firms to attract investments for mega infrastructure projects in Maharashtra. Additionally, he was recognised for receiving a Doctorate from Japan's Koyasan University.

Lastly, the third resolution appreciated the leadership of Chief Minister Shinde and Deputy Chief Ministers Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar.

In an unanimous decision, it was agreed that all the NDA parties in Maharashtra would remain united and work together to secure a greater mandate for Prime Minister Modi in the 2024 polls.

This decision reflects the commitment of the parties to support and strengthen the leadership.

With 48 Lok Sabha seats and 288 Assembly seats, the NDA has set ambitious goals for the upcoming elections.

The alliance aims to win at least 45 seats in Maharashtra's Lok Sabha and 230 seats in the state assembly.

Senior leader Praful Patel, state BJP chief Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Union Minister Ramdas Athavale, RSP leader Mahadeo Jankar, RPI’s Jogendra Kawade, Bachhu Kadu of BJS, JSP’s Vinay Kore, and BVA’s Hitendra Thakur were present at the meeting.

The meeting was also attended by state cabinet ministers and office bearers of all parties.
