Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy revealed plans on Sunday for significant developments in Maheswaram, near Hyderabad, aiming to create a new city comparable to New York.
Additionally, he announced that Rachakonda, known for its scenic beauty akin to Ooty, will be developed into a film-making hub.
Reddy made these announcements while distributing safety kits to toddy tappers in Abdullahpur, on the outskirts of the city. He also mentioned that the Hyderabad Metro Rail will soon extend to Hayat Nagar, with all plans finalised.
In a pointed remark towards his predecessor K Chandrasekhar Rao, Reddy emphasised that key infrastructure such as the Outer Ring Road, the international airport, and Pharma City were developed under Congress rule. He criticised the previous government for allegedly promoting drug and ganja smuggling.
Reddy noted that Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) assembly members are joining Congress to support Telangana's development and expressed confidence that Congress would govern the state for the next decade. He blamed the previous BRS government for leaving Telangana in a debt trap but assured that his government is addressing these challenges and progressing steadily.
