The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is conducting searches at multiple locations in Tamil Nadu in connection with the banned Islamist outfit Popular Front of India (PFI).
According to reports, raids are underway at several places in Chennai, including Otteri and Thiruvottiyur, and 10 other districts, that include Coimbatore, Madurai, Theni and Trichy.
The NIA officials are reportedly conducting searches at the homes of people believed to be associated with PFI.
Similarly, more than eight places with links to SDPI leaders are being raided in Madurai, Theni and Trichy districts to ascertain whether the suspects are in touch with the banned Popular Front of India, reports NewsNine.
Earlier last month, the NIA had conducted similar raids on 17 locations associated with the PFI across the country, including in the states of Bihar, UP, Punjab and Goa.
