Addressing the nation from the Red Fort on Independence Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday (15 August) praised the Supreme Court of India for saying that operative part Of judgment will be provided to the applicant in his mother tongue.
"I want to thank the Supreme Court for saying that the operative part of the judgement delivered by the Apex Court would be made available to applicant in his mother tongue," PM Modi said.
Earlier in January, the Chief Justice, while speaking at an event in Mumbai, had suggested that the Supreme Court's rulings should be made available in all regional languagess.
Speaking at the event, the CJI had said, "the next step... is to provide translated copies of the judgments of the Supreme Court in every Indian language" and stressed on the use of technology to help the courts reach out to citizens across India, reports Hindustan Times.
