"BJP is a guarantee towards all-round progress," PM Narendra Modi said in an X post carrying this and other pictures from the rally in Chhattisgarh.
Marking the end of the BJP's 'parivartan yatra' in Congress-ruled Chhattisgarh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi criticised the Congress party for attempting to divide women based on caste and spreading falsehoods.
He specifically addressed the party's demand for an OBC sub-quota in women's reservation in legislatures.
Speaking to a large gathering of supporters, PM Modi highlighted his own OBC background to emphasise that the opposition party has consistently shown disdain towards him and has continuously insulted backward communities, Dalits, and tribals.
He alluded to Rahul Gandhi's court conviction for his speech.
Gandhi was convicted by a Gujarat court for his derogatory remarks about the "Modi surname." The Supreme Court has currently put a stay on this conviction.
Modi alleged that the Congress party harbours a strong dislike towards him because he, as a member of a backward community, became the Prime Minister.
PM Modi made it clear that they will not be putting forward any chief ministerial candidate in Chhattisgarh. The party's only leader and candidate is the 'lotus'.
He said the focus is on winning over the heart of every voter at the polling booths and that the people have made up their minds to remove the corrupt and scandal-ridden Congress government.
Addressing the issue of women's reservation and the demand for an OBC quota within it, the Prime Minister urged women to stay united and not be swayed by lies and attempts to divide them based on caste.
The Congress party is filled with anger and sleepless nights as they fear that mothers and sisters will support the Prime Minister, he said. They are resorting to new tactics to divide women based on caste, but if the women remain united, their game is over.
“I want to tell women of Chhattisgarh that this decision (law) will have an impact for thousands of years. It will empower women in every family... You should not fall for their lies and stay united. You maintain your blessings for me so that Modi can fulfill all your dreams,” PM Modi said.
Despite their initial reluctance, opposition parties like the Congress ultimately supported the bill in Parliament. This was due to the unity and awareness among women, which played a significant role in influencing their decision, according to the Prime Minister.
