Prime Minister Narendra Modi turned 73 on Sunday (17 September).
On the same day, the BJP will be launching a "Sewa Pakhwara" (fortnight of service) that will continue 2 October, the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
During this period, members of the BJP are expected to engage in various activities including spreading awareness about the government's achievements, organising welfare activities such as blood donation camps, cleanliness drives, and health camps.
On the occasion of his birthday, President Droupadi Murmu and others sent their best wishes to the PM.
"I wish that with your far-reaching vision and strong leadership, you pave the way for the overall development of India in the 'Amrit Kaal'," President Murmu said on X.
Home Minister Amit Shah also praised PM Modi as the architect of a new India.
J P Nadda, the BJP president, said, "You have given concrete shape to the global prestige of Indian culture, multi-dimensional development of the people and universal progress of the nation."
On his birthday, the Prime Minister will personally oversee the launch of several development initiatives.
The most important scheme among these is the "PM Vishwakarma," aimed at supporting artisans, craftsmen, and individuals involved in traditional skills, on the occasion of 'Vishwakarma Jayanti.'
It will have a budget of Rs 13,000 crore.
He is also set to inaugurate the first phase of the India International Convention and Expo Centre (IICC), known as Yashobhoomi, in Dwarka, New Delhi.
Additionally, PM Modi will set off the extension of the Delhi Airport Metro Express line from Dwarka Sector 21 to a new metro station at Dwarka Sector 25.
