Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad has responded to Union Minister Nityanand Rai's accusations, that he favoured his wife Rabri Devi for the chief minister's position over other capable leaders in the party.

Lalu Prasad stated, "The Union Minister of State in Hajipur used to approach us to join our party. BJP had talked about making him the Chief Minister of Yadavs....He says that Lalu Yadav made Rabri Devi the Chief Minister. Agar Rabri Devi ko CM nahi banate to kya tumhari bibi ko banate. (If Rabri Devi had not been made the Chief Minister, would I have made your wife the CM?)

Prasad emphasised Rabri Devi's pivotal role in the existence of the RJD government and questioned why other leaders were not made chief minister during his periods of incarceration.

Rai accused Lalu Yadav of keeping the Yadav community in the dark and claimed that Lalu prioritised his family over others, leading to a scarcity of jobs for the Yadavs.

In response to these allegations, Lalu Prasad accused the BJP of dividing the Yadav community for political gains.

He asserted that the BJP is responsible for the fragmentation of the Yadavas wherever they are in power. Lalu Prasad also highlighted the achievements of his government, such as providing 75 per cent reservation and creating job opportunities through teacher recruitments.
