Rahul Gandhi confidently predicted a Congress victory with 150 seats in the upcoming Madhya Pradesh assembly polls.
Madhya Pradesh Congress leaders met party chief Mallikarjun Kharge at the AICC headquarters to discuss the state's preparedness for the forthcoming assembly polls.
He emphasized the meeting's importance as all senior leaders were present, with more than four months remaining until the polls.
Nath cited the 'Nari Samman Yojna' as a start in Madhya Pradesh when asked if the party would give guarantees like it did in Karnataka.
"We have done some and some will be announced in the future. We can't fire all the bullets in one go," Nath said.
Madhya Pradesh's Assembly elections are planned to take place by year-end. The MP Assembly has 230 seats.
The previous election held on 28 November 2018, threw up a hung Assembly, with the Congress emerging as the largest party with 114 seats while the BJP won 109 seats.
Following the election, the Congress formed a coalition government led by Nath. However, it lost majority in March 2020 after several MLAs joined BJP, leading to Chouhan's comeback as the Chief Minister.
Introducing ElectionsHQ + 50 Ground Reports Project
The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
