A tweet posted by Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh, which featured a poster inviting various Sikh sects, groups, intellectuals, and writers to gather at Akal Takht to discuss the "present state of affairs in Punjab," has been withheld in India.

Amid the ongoing verbal dispute between the Akal Takht Jathedar and the Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the withholding of the event poster tweet has taken place. It has been reported that the tweet was withheld in India due to a legal request.

In a gathering on Monday, Giani Harpreet Singh gave an ultimatum to the Punjab government for the release of 'Sikh youth' apprehended in a crackdown against Khalistani preacher Amritpal.

Punjab police had informed that of the 353 people in preventive custody, 197 were released.

The Akal Takht is the Sikhs' highest authority, and its Jathedar serves as their top spokesperson.

As per the report, over 100 Twitter accounts and tweets have been restricted in India since the Amritpal Singh and 'Waris Punjab De' crackdown started. This includes the Twitter account of famous Punjabi singer Babbu Mann which was withheld on Monday.

Sukhbir Singh Badal, the President of Shiromani Akali Dal Badal, responded to the ban. He tweeted: “Now the governments have come down to the extent of banning even the words from Sri Akal Takht Sahib. My warning to Bhagwant Mann is not to challenge Guru Ghar. Stop the attacks on the highest shrine of Miri Piri created by the 6th Patshah, otherwise remember the horror of those who challenged Sri Akal Takht Sahib.”
