Aligarh: UP Police Book SP Leader Rubina Khanum For Provocative Statement On Loudspeaker Controversy

The Uttar Pradesh Police on Monday (18 April) booked Samajwadi Party leader Rubina Khanum for her provocative comments over the loudspeaker controversy.
Rubina, who is the Aligarh city president of SP women wing, has reportedly been booked by the police under various provisions of the Indian Penal Code.
"An FIR had been registered against a woman (Samajwadi Party leader Rubina Khan) over her alleged comments against a community in a viral post," Aligarh Circle officer Shwetabh Pandey was quoted by ANI as saying.
According to reports, some members of local Hindu outfits had announced recently that they would play Hanuman Chalisa on loudspeakers in various places in Aligarh.
Opposing the announcement, Rubina said that the Muslims should not be provoked, adding that the Muslim women will protest against the attempts being made to compel removal of loudspeakers from the mosques by targeting the community.
She also said that the Muslim women will also read Quran in front of the Hindu temples.
It should be noted that the Rubina had earlier in February, when the Karnataka Hijab row was ongoing, courted controversy when she threatened to chop off hands of those who try to touch Hijab.
Sparking a controversy, Rubina Khanam said, "If you try to play with the dignity of the daughters and sisters of India, it will not be long before they become like Jhansi ki Rani and Razia Sultana and chop off the hands of those who touch their hijabs," reports India Today.
