Amritpal Singh's Wife, Kirandeep Kaur, Questioned At Airport, Stopped From Boarding London-Bound Flight

Kirandeep Kaur, the wife of Khalistani radical and 'Waris Punjab De' leader Amritpal Singh, was stopped at Amritsar airport while attempting to board a flight to London and is now being questioned by the Punjab police.

"Amritpal Singh's wife Kirandeep Kaur has not been detained yet, say Punjab Police source, but is being questioned by the Immigration department, reported ANI.

"Kirandeep Kaur was supposed to travel to Birmingham but she reported to the immigration counters and being an Look Out Circular (LOC) subject the immigration has not permitted her to travel and detained her, sources at Shri Guru Ram Dass International Airport told ANI.

In February this year, Amritpal Singh wedded Kaur, a non-resident Indian (NRI) based in the UK. Singh had declared that their marriage exemplified reverse migration and disclosed that both he and his wife would reside in Punjab.

Amritpal claims to be a follower of the Khalistani separatist and terrorist Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale and is known as "Bhindranwale 2.0" among his supporters.

The Punjab Police on 18 March had launched a major crackdown against Amritpal Singh and members of his outfit 'Waris Punjab De.'

Singh, however, gave the police a slip and escaped their dragnet when his cavalcade was intercepted in Jalandhar district.
