Ex-Cricketer Harbhajan Singh To Be Sent To The Rajya Sabha By AAP: Report

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is set to send former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh to the Rajya Sabha, ANI reports.
Sources in the know of developments informed that the newly-elected state government could also hand over the command of the sports university to Singh.
Earlier, Chief Minister (CM) Bhagwat Singh Mann had promised of establishing a sports university in Jalandhar.
“Congratulations to @AamAadmiParty and my friend #BhagwantMann on becoming our new Chief minister .. great to hear that he will be taking oath as the new CM in Bhagat Singh’s village Khatkarkalan...what a picture...this is a proud moment for Mata ji (sic.),” the former India off-spinner wrote on Twitter.
Five Rajya Sabha seats from Punjab will fall vacant in the coming month.
The Election Commission of India has declared the dates for biennial polls to the upper house. If a case for voting emerges, then the elections for the same will take place on 31st March.
AAP's strength in the Rajya Sabha will increase to eight seats following its resounding victory in the assembly polls of Punjab.
