The Karnataka High Court has ruled that Janata Dal (Secular)-JDS leader Prajwal Revanna is ineligible to serve as a Member of Parliament from the Hassan district, due to irregularities found in his 2019 general election affidavit.

The decision was handed down by Judge K Natrajan in a single-bench judgment, according to a report by India Today.

The court's action followed a petition filed against Revanna, which alleged the submission of fraudulent documents during the nomination process for the 2019 elections.

Representing the petitioner, Shivananda stated, "He has been disqualified due to unethical conduct. Revanna suppressed an income amounting to over Rs 24 crore when filing his affidavit during the 2019 Lok Sabha elections."

Furthermore, it was noted that Revanna is barred from contesting elections for the next six years.

“He can appeal to the Supreme Court after this,” Shivananda added.

It's important to mention that Prajwal Revanna was the sole MP representing the JD(S) from the Hassan district, and he is also the grandson of JD(S) founder H D Deve Gowda.
