Madhya Pradesh: Congress Won’t Ban Bajrang Dal If It Comes To Power, Says Digvijaya Singh Amid Fear Of Backlash

If the Congress party is voted to power, former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Digvijaya Singh stated that they will not ban the Bajrang Dal.
He also acknowledged that there may be some well-intentioned individuals within the Bajrang Dal.
Singh stated, while talking to reporters in Bhopal, “Bajrang Dal is a group of goons and anti-social elements. This country belongs to all, Hindu, Muslim, Sikh and Christian, this is a country for everyone. so Modi ji (PM Narendra Modi) and Shivraj ji (MP CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan) stop dividing the country. Establish peace which will lead to development”.
When asked about the possibility of the Congress party banning the Bajrang Dal if they come into power, Digvijaya Singh, a member of the Rajya Sabha, responded that they would not impose a ban.
However, he made it clear that those involved in criminal activities and rioting would face consequences.
The BJP has frequently accused the Congress party of adopting a soft Hindutva approach and being selective in their religious affiliations for electoral purposes.
In August, MP Congress Committee President Kamal Nath hosted the controversial chief priest of Bageshwar Dham, Dhirender Shastri, in the Chhindwara constituency.
When questioned about Shastri's calls for a Hindu rashtra (nation), Nath responded by stating "Today if 82 per cent are Hindus in our country, then what nation is this?”
Singh defended Nath's comments by stating that they were misrepresented.
CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan reacted sharply to Singh's comments, criticising both Digvijaya Singh and Kamal Nath.
He said, “Neither Digvijaya Singh nor Kamal Nath care for Hindutva, country and society. To reap the crop of votes they keep speaking what they feel like".
