New Revelations In Coimbatore Blast Case: Explosives Were Ordered Online; Sixth Suspect Arrested
- Following the sixth arrest in the case, the police have written to Amazon and Flipkart asking for details of those who purchased the explosive materials from their platforms in the last couple of years.

The Tamil Nadu police has arrested K Afsar Khan, a relative of the deceased Jameesha Mubeen, taking the total number of arrests in the case to six.
The police found that the Maruti 800 car that exploded used to be parked near Khan’s house.
Khan had helped Mubeen by procuring explosive materials such as potassium nitrate, aluminium powder, sulphur and charcoal online from e-commerce websites - Amazon and Flipkart. He had been purchasing small quantities over the last few years.
The search of Mubeen’s house had yielded around 75 kg of explosives.
Following Khan’s arrest, the police have written to Amazon and Flipkart asking for details of those who purchased the explosive materials from their platforms in the last couple of years.
Jail authorities in Kerala have been requested to provide information on visitors of Mohammad Azharudeen, an ISIS sympathiser who was found to be connected with Mubeen, in order to find out if chemicals could have been procured from Kerala with his help.
C Sylendra Babu, the Director General of Police (DGP) said that vigil has been increased on scrap dealers handling abandoned and condemned cars because the car used in this incident was provided by one such dealer.
Police are looking into their recent dealings and have started checking cars that are found parked for a long time.
The National Investigative Agency (NIA) is expected to take over the case in the next few days following the recommendation of the Tamil Nadu government.
