The Opposition alliance is set to hold a two-day meeting in Mumbai from 31 August to 1 September.

The agenda of the meeting reportedly includes the unveiling of the logo of the Opposition alliance called I.N.D.I.A., the formation of a coordination committee, the appointment of convenors, discussions on seat-sharing for the general elections, strategies for the elections, and other matters.

“A state-wise seat-sharing formula could be discussed during the meeting," a senior Opposition leader was quoted as saying by The Indian Express.

Further, a logo of the Opposition alliance, known as I.N.D.I.A., will also be unveiled on 1 September.

"The logo will reflect the country and its unity, and those things that unify the country,” the senior Opposition leader added.

Additionally, there is a possibility of more political parties joining the meeting.

The Shiv Sena (UBT) on Monday (28 August) released a video teaser for the Opposition INDIA alliance meeting in Mumbai.

Earlier, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut had said that some parties from the north-east expressed interest in joining the alliance.

The decision regarding their inclusion will be made collectively by all the parties involved in the alliance, according to Raut.

The Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) in Maharashtra, consisting of Shiv Sena (UBT), Congress, and NCP, has prepared for the INDIA alliance meeting.

To ensure smooth proceedings, several committees have been formed to handle various arrangements for the meeting.

These committees comprise two leaders from each party who are responsible for tasks such as managing the media, social media, accommodation and transportation arrangements, security, and welcoming dignitaries, among other things.

The Congress has taken on the responsibility of overseeing media coverage, publicity on social media platforms, and other communication channels.

On the other hand, the NCP is in charge of organising transportation for the event.

As the host of the third meeting of Opposition parties, the Sena (UBT) is taking care of the accommodation, dinner, and other arrangements of the meeting at the Grand Hyatt hotel in Vakola.

Around 150 rooms have been booked for two days to accommodate the dignitaries and leaders attending the meeting.

During the second Opposition unity meeting held in Bengaluru, the alliance of 26 opposition parties reached a consensus on a new name: I.N.D.I.A.

A significant number of leaders, around 80, from 26 different parties, along with five Chief Ministers from the Opposition bloc, will be attending the meeting of the newly formed alliance.

Notably, this is the first meeting of the alliance to take place in a state where none of its members hold power.
