"Prime Minister Of Bharat": New Document Sparks Further Speculation On India's Name Change After President's G20 Invitation

After the dinner invite to G20 leaders from President Droupadi Murmu caused controversy and speculation, a new government document has further fuelled the rumours.
Instead of using the traditional term 'President of India', the Presidential invite to the G20 leaders had referred to her as the 'President of Bharat'.
Now, another document has surfaced that also refers to Prime Minister Narendra Modi as the 'Prime Minister of Bharat'.
A note regarding the Prime Minister's visit to Indonesia for the 20th ASEAN-India Summit and the 18th East Asia Summit on Wednesday and Thursday uses the term 'Prime Minister of Bharat'.
BJP National Spokesperson Sambit Patra posted the note on X, formerly known as Twitter.
However, this immediately invited criticism from the Congress, which pointed out that the same document used both the terms 'ASEAN-India Summit' and 'Prime Minister of Bharat'.
Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh took to the platform to criticise the Modi government, claiming that it was confused.
Ramesh highlighted the use of 'Prime Minister of Bharat' at the 20th ASEAN-India summit and suggested that this "drama" was a result of the Opposition collectively calling themselves "INDIA".
It should be noted that the G20 invitation from the President led to the buzz that the country's name may be changed during the special session of Parliament from 18-22 September.
The government has not yet announced the agenda for the special session, adding to the anticipation surrounding this potential name change.
The opposition, as part of its 28-party alliance called 'I.N.D.I.A.', has raised concerns about the possible name change.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has questioned what actions the Centre would take if the alliance decides to rename itself 'Bharat'.
Several leaders from the BJP have expressed their support for the use of the name 'Bharat'.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma took to Twitter to express his pride in the wording of the Presidential invite.
In a post on X, the Assam CM expressed his happiness and pride that the Republic of Bharat is boldly progressing towards 'Amrit Kaal'.
BJP President JP Nadda criticized the Congress for opposing any issue related to the honor and pride of the country.
