Over 68 per cent voters have cast their votes in the Rajasthan assembly elections till 5 pm, according to the Election Commission.

Polling is being held in 199 out of 200 Assembly seats in Rajasthan today.

The election in Sriganganagar's Karanpur seat has been suspended because of the death of Congress candidate and incumbent MLA Gurmeet Singh Koonar.

The voting, which will proceed till 6 pm, had recorded a voter turnout of 68.34 per cent per cent by 5 am, as per the Election Commission of India.

The election results will be declared on 3 December.

The BJP is fighting on all the seats, whereas the Congress has reserved one seat - Bharatpur - for its partner Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD), mirroring the strategy from the 2018 elections.

As per the Election Commission officials, there are 5,26,90,146 voters in 199 constituencies. The voting is being carried out through as many as 2.74 lakh workers, 6,247 sector officials as well as over 1.02 lakh security personnel.

Seven MPs, including Rajyavardhan Rathore, Diya Kumari, and Kirodi Lal Meena, have been fielded by the BJP for the Assembly elections.
