Secunderabad Rally Signals BJP’s Intent For ‘Telangana 2023’
- The rally was held after the conclusion of the two-day National Executive Meet of the BJP in Hyderabad.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a mammoth rally at Parade Grounds, in Secunderabad, Telangana. The venue was filled to the brim with the chants of “Modi, Modi” heard many times during the event.
The public address was held after the conclusion of the two-day National Executive Meet of the BJP in Hyderabad.
PM Modi seemed visibly happy with the Telangana state unit headed by Bandi Sanjay Kumar for the massive show of support reflected in the turnout of the rally.
All-Round Development of Telangana
With state elections due next year, PM Modi highlighted the potential of the state, from its cities to its villages, from startups to the farmers, from its cultural heritage to the talent of its people and how it could be realised under the double engine government of the BJP.
Talking of good governance, PM Modi spoke of BJP offering the people a positive and development-driven agenda.
He spoke emphatically about highway projects in the state implemented in the past 8 years that have made the lives of people in the state a lot easier. Since 2014, the highway network in the state has doubled to 5,000 km.
He mentioned about Rs 31,000 crore spent on enhancing connectivity through railway networks as well as announced a mega Textile Park for the state.
Invoking Telangana’s Cultural Roots
PM Narendra Modi addressed Hyderabad with its ancient name, ‘Bhagyanagar’, followed by a huge cheer from the crowd.
He invoked the giants produced by the state, from king Prataparudra to the tribal leader and freedom fighter, Komuram Bheem.
In the run-up to the polls, BJP is looking to counter KCR’s sub-regional politics with a wider Hindutva nationalism.
Back in 2019, the BJP increased its vote share to 19.45 per cent and managed to increase its tally from 1 to 4 seats. This was the highest BJP tally in 20 years, indicating a revival of the party in the state. With the party holding its national executive in Hyderabad and PM Modi sounding the poll bugle in Secunderabad, the BJP does not seem to be leaving anything to chance.
