Exit polls for Tamil Nadu are out. According to the Axis My India poll, the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) is expected to get 20-22 seats, its alliance partner, the Congress 6-8 seats, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) 1-3 seats and the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) 0-2 seats.

Coming to the vote share predictions, the poll gives 22 per cent to the NDA, 46 per cent to the INDI alliance, 21 per cent to the AIADMK alliance and 11 per cent to others.

The party wise vote share is 26 per cent for the DMK, 10 per cent for the Congress, 19 per cent for the AIADMK, 14 per cent for the BJP and 31 per cent for others.

In the 2019 elections, the DMK-led alliance won 38 of the state's 39 seats. The AIADMK won 1 seat.

The Dinamalar-JVC Sreeram team exit poll has given 17 to 21 seats to the DMK, 7 to 8 to the Congress, 2 each to the VCK, CPIM and CPI. The IUML and the MDMK are expected to get 0-1 seats.

The INDI alliance as a whole will get 30 to 37 seats with a vote share of 40.93 per cent. The vote share of the major constituents, i.e., the DMK being 23.41 per cent and the Congress 9.48 per cent.

The AIADMK alliance would get 0-2 seats with a vote share of 25.06 per cent. Its alliance partner, the Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK) is not expected to win any seats, the poll stated.

The vote share of the AIADMK is expected to be 23.09 per cent.


The BJP is expected to get 2 to 4 seats, the Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) 0-1, the Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK) 0-1, the Tamil Maanila Congress (TMC) 0.

The likely vote shares are 15.85 per cent for the BJP, 5.54 per cent for the PMK, 1.44 per cent for the AMMK, 1.43 per cent for the TMC and 0.9 per cent from O Panneerselvam's outfit.

The Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK) of Seeman is likely to get 8.95 per cent.

The poll by Today's Chanakya however has caught a lot of attention for its huge projection for the NDA. It has given 10 ± 4 seats to them. The DMK led alliance has been given 29 ± 5 seats and the AIADMK 0-2 seats.

India TV-CNX has predicted 5-7 seats for the BJP, 16-18 for the DMK, 6-8 for the Congress and 0-1 for the AIADMK.

The poll by Idam Valam-Spick Media, has given quite different figures. It has given 29 seats to the DMK, 10 seats to the AIADMK and 0 seats to the NDA and NTK. The vote shares are as follows- 37.64 per cent for the DMK, 35.15 per cent for the AIADMK, 17.23 per cent for the NDA and 7.96 per cent for the NTK.

The poll by Thanthi TV, a large regional news outlet predicted 33-37 seats for the INDI alliance and 2-4 for the NDA.
