WFI Chief Brij Bhushan Singh Agrees To Narco Test Amidst Harassment Allegations, Demands Same For Vinesh Phogat, Bajrang Punia

BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, head of Wrestling Federation of India, agreed to a narco-analysis to clarify sexual harassment allegations, but has a condition.
In a Facebook post on Sunday, Singh expressed his willingness to take the narco, polygraph, or lie detector tests, but with the condition that Vinesh Phogat and Bajrang Punia would also have to undergo these tests.
"If both the wrestlers are ready to get their test done, then call the press and announce and I promise them that I am also ready for this," he said.
The wrestlers' protest has gained support from farmers in Haryana. On Sunday, a khap panchayat in Meham passed a resolution calling for Singh to undergo a narco test and face legal action.
Ace wrestlers Bajrang Punia, Vinesh Phogat and Sakshee Mallik have been protesting at Delhi's Jantar Mantar since April, demanding the arrest of the accused WFI chief for sexual harassment.
However, the MP has denied wrongdoing and blames wrestlers for framing him.
Following a notice by the Supreme Court, two police cases were registered on 29 April. The Delhi Police have formed a Special Investigation Team to investigate the matter and submitted a status report to the court.
Singh, on Sunday, said that he had planned to retire from politics in 2014, but he was convinced by Union Home Minister Amit Shah to continue.
The PTI quoted him as saying, "I wanted to retire from politics in 2014. But Amit Shah during the 2014 Lok Sabha elections did not allow me to do that."
The BJP MP from Kaiserganj is currently in Gonda, actively engaging with his constituents and drumming up support for the Chetna Maha rally in Ayodhya on 5 June, through various programmes and meetings.
"If someone decided to say lies then they can," Singh said about the allegations levelled by the wrestlers, reports NDTV.
